The new output from AMD
This time AMD has
issued new CPU for netbook segment in the classroom. CPU for notebooks is named Brazo that unites its integrated graphics card with the CPU. Combined CPU and GPU is named APU (Accelerate Proccesing Units) by AMD. Merging the CPU and the GPU is actually already done by intel atom platform and its core-i series. Only just now of AMD can make merging CPU and GPU as done by Intel. To a new AMD now makes the APU for the netbook and notebook segments. Of course AMD also has plans to make the APU on the desktop PC segment. Only AMD has yet to confirm when we can see the APU on the desktop. But I suspect APU for the desktop would appear in 2011.
AMD makes several variants for netbook CPU this time a total of two dual-core CPU and two single core CPUs.

As in what we know AMD has the advantage in its integrated graphics card section. Current integrated graphics card from AMD is the HD4200 integrated graphics card my best on the market imaginable. But this time with the AMD platform back Brazo improve its integrated graphics card. In brazo platform AMD will use the latest integrated graphics card ie 6310 and 6250.
In some tests HD6310 proved to have a better graphics performance than HD 4200. E350 APU with HD 6310 can even beat the score obtained by the atomic pair D525 and NVIDIA ION 2 on asus netbook 1215N. Although I see the difference also is not too much. As a comparison of CPU performance of E350 is almost the same as the Athlon and the Athlon Neo K325 V120. While in the graphics performance clearly superior to E350 with its HD6310 GPU.
Although the platform brazo been better but still could not compete with dual-core processors from Intel and Core i3. AMD is not targeting this brazo platform to compete against dual core and Core i3. AMD wants to use this platform to rival brazo intel atom netbook class.
As we know from previous AMD CPUs have a weakness in terms of battery life and CPU temperature. This
time AMD platform pretty sure brazo be able to survive up to 6 hours
and has a temperature colder than the previous AMD CPUs. It's definitely better than a netbook that uses AMD athlon athlon neo V120 and K325. What about the atom? I think AMD still can not compete with the atoms in the problem of temperature and battery life. Only this can still be covered by the CPU and GPU performance brazo better than intel atom.
With his exit brazo platform is expected we could see a netbook with intel atom CPU other than the market.
